There are not 12 total constellations along the ecliptic but rather 13, and the missing one is Ophiuchus (the Serpent Bearer who represents healing, transformation, hidden knowledge, and bridging the material and spiritual worlds). The Sun passes through Ophiuchus every year roughly between November 29 (or December 6^th depending on the astrologer) and December 17, yet this sign was excluded from the standard zodiac.

Why?

Because 12 signs fit neatly into a 360° wheel (30° each). The problem with this is that the sky is not evenly divided.

Have you ever thought about how the solar year contains approximately 13 lunar cycles (13 full moons)? Or how the average menstrual cycle occurs about 13 times per year?

Again, there are, 13 Moon cycles per year, 13 menstrual cycles per year, 13 zodiac constellations along the ecliptic, and in tarot, 13 is the card of death & rebirth (transformation).

The number 13 represents completion beyond the physical (12) … stepping into a higher octave.

You may be thinking, “but I resonated with my sun sign…”
